Code

Because I like analytic theory, a lot of the code I write from scratch is in Mathematica (aka Python++). I also use, modify, and (to some extent) develop code for PHANTOM (smoothed-particle hydrodynamics) and FLASH (finite-volume hydrodynamics), and occasionally MESA (stellar evolution). To find Mathematica notebooks that have resulted from my research, as well as snippets/setups/inlists from these other codes, go to my GitHub: https://github.com/erc-astro. Examples include quasi-star structures (Coughlin & Begelman 2024), TDE rates in the Kerr geometry (Coughlin & Nixon 2022), and self-similar solutions in the interaction phase of strong explosions (Coughlin 2024).
